COR

Certificate of Recognition – The Certificate of Recognition (COR) is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes companies who develop and implement health and safety and injury management systems that meet an industry standard. The program rewards employers who take a strategic approach to workplace safety and are committed to reducing both the human and financial costs of workplace injuries. COR certification is offered by WorkSafeBC and delivered through Certifying Partners. The BCCSA is the COR Certifying Partner for employers in the construction industry.

To achieve COR, the company must go through an audit process (Certification audit & maintenance audits). The purpose & scope of the audit is to measure the effectiveness of the Health & Safety Program against a national standard. The audit document covers 14 elements of an occupational Health & Safety program. Marks are awarded using three different methods; Documentation, observation and interviews. The company must achieve 50% in each Element and 80% overall.

Since 2004, Winvan Paving has maintained its’ COR status. For more information on COR visit bccsa.ca

Traffic management plans are developed to provide a safe work zone for our employees and well defined travel lane(s) for the public. This campaign is designed to raise the travelling publics` awareness of roadside workers` safety.

In conjunction with the Slow Down Campaign, WorkSafeBC along with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, BCAA Road Safety Foundation and the Work Zone Safety Alliance is launching the Cone Zone awareness program.
