We are seeking a safe and self-motivated skilled Millwright to join our team, based at our Asphalt Plant in New Westminster. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various machinery and equipment in industrial settings. The ideal candidate should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.

 

Education, Skills and Requirements

  • -Journeyman Millwright preferred, Apprentices, Electricians, and those with equivalent to journeyman millwright experience will be considered
  • -3+ years proven experience as a Millwright or similar role in an industrial environment preferred
  • -Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • -Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • -Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • -Familiarity with safety protocols, procedures, and regulations related to equipment maintenance and repair.
  • -Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • -Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • -Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed to respond to emergency situations and meet production deadlines.
  • -Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • -Able to lift 50 lbs

Primary Responsibilities

  • -Install, assemble, dismantle, and relocate machinery and equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
  • -Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and inspecting machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • -React promptly to problems with the machine and resolve breakdowns quickly and efficiently, take preventative action
  • -Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • -Utilize hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments to complete repairs and adjustments.
  • -Align and calibrate machinery components to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety standards.
  • -Fabricate and modify machine parts as needed to improve functionality and efficiency.
  • -Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to coordinate repair schedules and prioritize tasks.
  • -Comply with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • -Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs performed.
  • -Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and new techniques relevant to the field of millwrighting.
